We'll be starting our 2010 fishing season on March 20! We plan on striper fishing. If you'd like info on availability from then after, give us a call or shoot us an e-mail and we'll get you aboard!
Here is a brief summary of what we'll be targeting and the best times to book for them...
In late March and April, we'll be booking our usual morning and afternoon 5 hour charters and open boats for striped bass. Towards the end of April, we will run a couple of togging trips prior to the season closing on May 1st.
In May, we are available for BLACK DRUM which are best around the moons. Moons in May are around May 15 and May 30. Three or four days either side of the moon is best. However, some years fishing is excellent in between the moons as well. We can accomodate morning and afternoon drum fishing, and many years the morning bite is excellent along with the evening bite. We are also booking 6 to 8 hour striper chunking trips for trophy bass as they exit the river. Morning drum trips will have the option of doing this if the drum bite is slow during the day, as this striper fishery is usually excellent in the spring. Last year, many 30 to 50 pound fish were taken.
June is spent chasing black drum during the early part of the month, with the best time leading up to the moon around June 10. We will fish for drum in the evening. Our day trips will be for SEA BASS as this is one of only two months this fishery will be open. I'd imagine demand will be high for sea bassing with the limited season. The later part of June will be spent doing one of my favorite things...DEEPWATER FLUKE!!!
July and August are only about one thing for me...DEEPWATER FLUKE!
September, we'll be SEA BASS FISHING....this is the 2nd of two months available for them.
October, November, and December are all about our favorite fishery...FALL STRIPERS!!!!!
December we'll also be TOGGING and continuing that through the winter.
Please call early if you have a date in mind. The boat books fairly quickly. All we need for deposits are $100 for private charters, and $25 for open boat seats. Despite rising fuel and other costs, our charter/open boat prices will remain the SAME as they have over the last few years.
